Does the BLS allow students to take both the prehospital and in-hospital tracks?

Once a student has successfully completed the first track and passed the coinciding exam, BLS completion certificate will be available for the student to print for entry into the hands-on skills session. The student may go back into the course and take the second track; however, an additional HeartCode BLS course completion certificate will not be issued for the second track.

What is an instrumented directive feedback device?
Instrumented directive feedback device measures rate, depth, hand position, release, and chest compression fraction and gives real-time audio and/or visual feedback on these items. At a minimum, the device must measure and give real-time audio and/or visual feedback on rate and depth. This information then allows students to selfcorrect their skills.

Instructors must have a copy of the appropriate Instructor manual for the course that they are teaching. It is also highly recommended that BLS Instructors review a copy of the student workbook for each course prior to teaching the course.
