Prerequisite for the exam
Achieving the VCDX-CMA certification requires the following steps:
For new candidates:
- Earn the latest VMware Certified Professional – Cloud Management & Automation (VCP-CMA) certification
- Earn the latest VMware Certified Implementation Expert – Cloud Management & Automation Design (VCIX7-CMA) badge
- Have the VCDX7-CMA application package approved and be invited to defend
- Successfully pass the VCDX7-CMA defense
- For existing VCDX-Cloud or VCDX-CMA candidates:
- Pass the latest VCAP-CMA Design exam
For existing VCDXs in other tracks:
- Earn the latest VMware Certified Implementation Expert – Cloud Management & Automation Design (VCIX-CMA) badge (for upgraded VCIX badges from a previous version, the VCAP-CMA Design is required)
- Have the VCDX-CMA application approved and be invited to defend
- Successfully pass a remote one-hour VCDX-CMA defense
