About CTET Paper II
Central Teaching Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national level entrance exam conducted to appont skilled teachers for Primary Level and Upper Primary Level.
CTET Paper II or Elementary Stage exam is conducted by CBSE for candidate planning to become a teacher of classes VI to VIII.
Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted twice a year, generally in the months of September and February. The registration for CTET is online through its official website www.ctet.nic.in.
Structure of CTET Paper II
The final question CTET paper II is bilingual i.e. English/Hindi and is conducted in an Offline Pen-Paper mode.
- CTET Paper II test has overall five parts consisting of total 150 Objective Type Questions (MCQ).
- Duration of Exam is 150 mins
- Candidates have to select questions 31 to 90 EITHER from Part II (Mathematics & Science) OR from Part III (Social Studies/Social Science).
- Part IV contains 30 questions of Language 1
- Part V contains 30 questions of Language II.
- Candidates can opt for Languages other than English and Hindi for Part IV and V.
- Candidates are required to attempt questions in Part V in a language other than the one chosen as Language I in Part IV from the list of languages.
- Languages being answered must match with the languages opted for in the application form.
- Each question is of one mark each
- There is no negative marking.

Eligibility Criterion for CTET Paper II
- Graduate degree in relevant discipline must be obtained.
- Candidate must have passed or appear in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks must be acquired.
- Candidate must have completed 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
- Graduation with at least 45% marks must be done in relevant discipline.
- Candidate must also complete a year in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
- Candidates must pass Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks
- Also, they must have either passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
- Candidates must have passed senior secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
- Candidate must have passed or should be appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
- Candidate must have done graduation with at least 50% marks.
- Candidate should have passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.

FAQ on CTET Paper II
Q. After qualifying the CTET, am I eligible for getting the Job?
Ans: Qualifying CTET would not confer a right on any person for Recruitment/Employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
Q. If I qualify CTET, will CTET unit or CBSE provide me a Job?
Ans: CBSE is an Examination conducting body only. Providing job/employment does not fall under its jurisdiction.
Q. What are the number of attempts a candidate can avail for CTET?
Ans: Till now there is no limit on number of attempts for appearing in CTET.
Q. What is the validity period of CTET certificate?
Ans: As per existing guidelines framed by NCTE, the validity period is 7 years.
Q. Can I apply for CTET again if I had already qualified the CTET before?
Ans: Yes. There is no restriction.
Q. Is there any provision for Rechecking/Re-evaluation of the OMR Answer sheet?
Ans: The machine - gradable Answer Sheets are evaluated with extreme care and are repeatedly scrutinized. No request for re-checking, re-assessment, re-evaluation or scrutiny of OMR Answer Sheets will be entertained. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
Q. When do you dispatch Marks Sheet/Eligibility Certificate?
Ans: It is dispatched after one month from the declaration of result.
