COBIT 2019 Foundation Exam

The COBIT 5 Certified Assessor credential demonstrates your proficiency as a highly competent IT and business professional who has been trained in performing COBIT-based IT process assessments and has experience in planning, building, running and/or monitoring IT processes.

Many enterprises are still using it and/or are in the process of transitioning from previous versions of COBIT to 2019 version. The benefit for you to stay certified is a personal choice, which may be based upon your current business environment, COBIT 5 use and COBIT 2019 adoption, among other factors.

Will the COBIT 2019 training schemes replace the COBIT 5 training schemes?

ISACA will continue to support the accreditation and delivery of the COBIT 5 training and certificate schemes. COBIT 5 training will continue to live alongside 2019 version training, delivered through our network of accredited training partners or ISACA’s on-site team.

If you have recently taken an exam (COBIT 2019 Foundation, COBIT Design and Implementation), your certificate will be dispatched to you approximately 2 weeks after your exam results have been released.

If you took your exam via ISACA’s eLearning campus (our previous learning management system), you can view your certificate through your My ISACA profile.

2019 version offers greater flexibility and openness to enhances the currency and relevance of COBIT. The introduction of new concepts such as focus areas and design factors allow for additional guidance for tailoring a governance system to the enterprise’s needs. Updated alignment to global standards, frameworks and best practices enhances the relevancy of COBIT

An “open-source” model will allow the global governance community the ability to inform future updates by providing feedback, sharing applications and proposing enhancements to the framework and derivative products in real-time, with further evolutions released on a rolling basis.

New guidance and tools support the development of a best-fit governance system, making 2019 version more prescriptive.

Is COBIT 2019 Foundation Exam difficult?

ISACA will continue to support the many governments and non-government organizations that have implemented COBIT 5 since its inception in 2012. All COBIT 5 guidance (and derivative products) will continue to be available for electronic download or purchase. Additionally, all COBIT® 5 products, resources and related training programs will remain available.

The COBIT 2019 Foundation certification is the most important step toward achieving strategic goals, improving operational effectiveness, and achieving business benefits.
