CGFNS Qualifying Exam®
The Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) Certification program is created solely for general, first-level enrolled nurses who have been educated and licensed outside the United States and who are adequate to practice as registered nurses in the United States. The certification program consists of three parts:
- A summary of credentials, which includes an evaluation of secondary education as well as nursing education, registration, and licensure.
- The CGFNS Qualifying Exam which tests candidates on their nursing knowledge.
- An examination in English language proficiency.
Requirements
CGFNS requires documents that verify that you have:
- Successfully completed secondary school education.
- Graduated from a government-approved, general nursing program of at least two years.
