National Instruments offers the Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) exam using either LabVIEW or LabVIEW NXG.


Who should take the exam?

For this exam National Instrument recommends that you should have a six or more months of LabVIEW development experience. Also, completing the LabVIEW Core 1 and LabVIEW Core 2 courses may substitute for three months of LabVIEW development experience.

To pass the CLAD exam you have to score minimum 70%.
The CLAD Exam is a multiple-choice exam in which for each question, you will choose only one of the four options presented. If more than one answer appears correct then, choose the best one.
Candidate will be to use software architectures from a single VI to a simple State Machine or Event-Driven UI Handler, collecting data from sensors using NI Hardware, using Array functions extensively to extract and manipulate a single channel of data from multiple-channel data represented by a 1D waveform array or a 2D numeric array and Creating and modifying SubVIs, clusters, and Type Defs to simplify their code and contribute to larger projects.
CLAD exam can be scheduled at Pearson VUE website. The exam can be taken at Pearson VUE testing center. There you can select between LabVIEW or LabVIEW NXG.as the LabVIEW environment for your exam
To pass the CLAD exam, the best way is to get experience in LabVIEW programming by applying the concepts presented in LabVIEW Core1 and Core2 courses. CLAD candidates should have at least 6 to 9 months of experience using LabVIEW. NI provides prep guide that gives overview of the exam, including exam logistics and coverage. The relevant knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) are tested by the CLAD exam and then listed in the KSAs: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities tested by the CLAD section.
