Certified Business Process Associate (CBPA)


The Association of Business Process Management Professionals International now renders two levels of certification courses for business process management (BPM) and transformation professionals. The first level is for those individuals who may be new to the business transformation profession. This is the Certified Business Process Associate (CBPA) certification.


Who should take the exam?

The CBPA certificate is concentrated on the new BPM practitioner. The objective for this certification course is the practitioner who has accomplished his/her undergraduate degree or has been working in a business process management associated role for at least one year. 


Exam Prerequisites

To earn the CBAP designation, candidates must:

  • Complete a minimum of 7,500 hours of Business Analysis Work experience in the last 10 years.
  • Within this experience, a minimum of 900 hours completed in 4 of the 6 BABOK® Guide Knowledge Areas, for a total of at least 3,600 of the required 7,500 total.
  • Complete a minimum of 35 hours of Professional Development in the last 4 years.
  • Provide two references.
  • Agree to Code of Conduct.
  • Agree to Terms and Conditions.
  • Pass the exam.

Certified Business Process Associate (CBPA®) FAQs

There are 90 questions in total in the exam.
The CBPA certificate is more focused on the BPM practitioner. The Certification program is made to promote the different competencies and expertise among the nine common management conditions of the business process management professionals.
The questions of the CBPA exam are available in the form of multiple choice.
No specific training is required as a precondition for the CBPA examination. However, candidates must have been involved in the subject area of process management for at least one year in order to satisfy the requirements in terms of practical experience. Half a year (625 hours) of working experience can be substituted by training or education.
The candidate should get at least 70% marks in order to pass the exam.
