What is DRA?

DRA stands for Debt Recovery Agent. The Debt Recovery sector is growing by leaps and bounds every year and there is an acute shortage of Certified DRAs in the country. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has informed the Indian Banks’ Association to formulate, in deliberation with the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF), a certificate course for Debt Recovery Agents who have undergone 100 / 50 hours of training. 

What is the work of the Debt Recovery Agent?

Debt Recovery Agents are responsible for collecting specified loans, or advances, or other kinds of debts from the debtors (or borrowers) following some rules. The debt Recovery Agent’s role in embodies professionalism & customer service. They work either on behalf of the bank to which the money is owed or as a part of collection agencies. 

Who should write the IIBF Debt Recovery Agent (DRA) exam?

  • Direct Selling Agent / Direct Marketing Agent / Debt Recovery Agent or any other agent, by whatever name called, who is engaged directly or indirectly either for remuneration or for the commission in connection with the recovery of a debt of banks or enforcement of securities in banks.
  • Any individual who would like to make a career as a Debt Recovery Agent for a bank.

What is the process for obtaining the IIBF certification?

For obtaining the certificate a candidate should :

  • Join accredited training Institute and undergo 100 / 50 hours training as the case may be;
  • Obtain Training Completion Certificate from the Training Institute;
  • Apply for Examination of the Institute;
  • Appear and pass the Examination;
  • Get pass certificate from the Institute

What is the passing score for the IIBF Debt Recovery Agent (DRA) exam?

The passing score for the DRA exam is 50%. 

How much time will be given to the candidate to complete the DRA exam?

The candidate will be given 90 minutes to complete the DRA exam.

What are the eligibility requirements for the DRA exam?

  • Qualification of the candidate: The candidate shall possess the minimum qualification of SSC passed or above,
  • Age: Candidate must have completed 18 years of age on the date of application for training
  • Training: 10 Std. Passed and up to graduation 100 hours

Graduation & above 50 hours

  • Employees of BPO / Call Centres with educational qualification of graduation and above need to undergo only 50 hours of training as per the training schedule provided to Banks / Accredited Institutes.

The DRA exam is available in the English language.

How can I prepare for the IIBF Debt Recovery Agent (DRA) exam?

The candidate can prepare for the IIBF Debt Recovery Agent (DRA) exam by some steps such as visiting the official site, learning and understanding the objectives, books and guides, practice tests, training programs, etc. 

I want to know about Study Material, its availability, and its cost. 

IIBF has developed comprehensive self-learning study materials and workbooks which has been published by Macmillan India Ltd and Taxman Publication Pvt Ltd. Candidates can directly purchase the books from the outlets of the publisher. Candidates who purchase the books directly from the outlets of the publishers will be offered a discount of 20% on the cost price of the book. They can also purchase online and by post.

How to receive a duplicate ID card?

A soft copy of the ID card will be made available to members for download through their Edit Profile on admission as Member of the Institute. In case a member does not have/lost the membership identity card he/she may apply for a duplicate identity card through the institute’s website and have to make the payment using debit/credit card or net banking. The fees for Duplicate I-Card with GST is Rs.118/- (Duplicate Icard charges Rs.100/- & GST Rs. 18/-).
