What is IIBA AAC Agile Analysis Certification Exam?

The IIBA Agile Analysis Certification (AAC) exam is aligned to the Agile Extension to the BABOK® Guide, version 2. This exam tests candidates ability to answer questions focused on real world scenarios. However, the Agile Extension developed in collaboration with the Agile Alliance, describes good practices, techniques, and other key information that have better business outcomes and adds customer value when work is executed using various agile approaches. Candidates who perform well in this exam are those that have developed the requisite competencies.

What is the knowledge required for the IIBA AAC Exam?

IIBA AAC exam is a competency-based certification exam that recognizes a candidate’s development of enhanced capabilities. However, this exam is for business analysis professionals having two to three years’ experience in executing analysis with related work in an agile context.

Who are the intended audiences for the IIBA AAC exam?

This certification is for:

  • Candidates who are BA professionals and working in agile environments
  • Those who have knowledge in increasing business analysis skill set and expertise
  • Those who stay up-to-date on best practices and industry trends

How many questions are there on the IIBA AAC Exam?

In IIBA AAC exam there will be 85 multiple choice and scenario based questions.

What is the course outline for the IIBA AAC Exam?

How much the IIBA AAC Exam will cost?

The IIBA AAC exam will cost $250 USD for members and $375 USD for non-members.

What is the time duration of the IIBA AAC Exam?

You will be given two hours to complete this exam.

In what language can we give the IIBA AAC Exam?

This exam is available in English Language.

How do I schedule for a IIBA AAC Exam?

For IIBA AAC Exam scheduling candidates need to follow some steps that are:

Step 1: Candidates first have to purchase the exam they want to give from the IIBA Store. Then, login with IIBA credentials and select Certification > My Certifications. After that, click on the Apply button. Once the exam fee is paid, the candidates will receive an email confirming purchase with the next step link.

Step 2 – After that, candidates need to complete attestations email to access IIBA Portal

and click on the Get started button to complete the attestations for the Code of Conduct and

Terms and Conditions.

Step 3 – Now, candidates can schedule the exam by selecting the Get started button. And, this will automatically take you to the PSI scheduling page. There, just select Schedule Exam and after completing this step, you will be directed to the “View Details” page.

What accommodations are available for candidates with disability?

If a candidate requires special accommodations to take the exam, do not schedule your exam. As, you will be required to provide a note from a doctor or health care professional.Then, add your note to either Google Drive, icloud or a dropbox and email a link to it with your request. For rescheduling or cancelling an exam, mention the exam date and your desired exam date in your email. After the request is approved, you will receive an email from IIBA on the next steps to follow to schedule your exam.

How much time is needed to prepare for the exams and how does one best prepare for the exams?

It really depends on the individual. The following, however, are some exam preparation tips:

  • Study the BABOK® Guide for the Core BA certifications or the Agile Extension for the Agile Analysis Certification (and their referenced sources).
  • Reviews sample exam questions.
  • Review the Core BA certifications’ competencies or ebook guide for the Agile Analysis Certification.
  • Attend training courses by IIBA Endorsed Education Providers (EEP™) in those areas you feel that additional knowledge would help benefit your study efforts.
  • Use online resources.
  • Use practice exams online as this simulates the environment in which you’ll be tested.
  • Use Study Prep books, which are widely available.
  • Discuss chapters with study partners when studying. Use plenty of examples to provide context where needed.

How and when are exams offered?

The ECBA™, CCBA®, CBAP®, IIBA®-AAC and IIBA®-CBDA exams are offered via remote online proctoring through PSI so you take it from your own computer.

How do I reschedule my exam?

Candidates who want to cancel or reschedule exam then they have to login with their IIBA credentials and select Certification > My Certifications. Then, click the Schedule and Pass Exam button to go on the PSI exam scheduling page. 

What is the Exam Refund Policy?

To refund the fee, candidates only have 12 months from the day IIBA received an exam or exam rewrite fee to request a refund. After this time, exam rewrite fee payment will become non-refundable and you will forfeit your payment.

How can I schedule my rewrite of an exam?

You must wait for IIBA to receive your exam result from the testing provider and upload it to your IIBA profile before you can pay and schedule your rewrite exam. This may take up to 24 hours from your exam day. As soon as your score is uploaded into your IIBA profile account, you will receive an e-mail from IIBA instructing you on your next steps to pay the exam rewrite fee and to schedule your rewrite of the exam. To schedule your rewrite, you are required to pay the rewrite fee to IIBA first.

I passed my exam. When will my profile be updated?

From your exam date, it can take up to 1 business day for IIBA to process your result from the testing provider. Once this is done, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from IIBA.

Once I am registered to take an exam from a test center, how do I find out about the exam logistics, including location, room, directions, time, etc.?

Once you have scheduled your exam at a test center, you will receive a confirmation notice via email with the exam logistics almost immediately. In addition, you will receive an appointment reminder via email two days prior to the exam date.

I can’t schedule my exam because I am getting an error message, what do I do?

If you experience an error while trying to schedule your exam, please contact [email protected].

When will I receive my exam results?

You will see your exam results immediately after you submit your exam. Confirmation of your exam result will also be emailed to you by IIBA within 2 business days.

What happens if I miss the exam or arrive late to the exam?

If you miss the exam date without cancelling or rescheduling in advance and paying the necessary fee, you will be considered a no-show and will have to forfeit the exam fee or rewrite fee you already paid, unless there is an extenuating circumstance.

Do I need to be a member of IIBA to apply for certification or to recertify?

No, you do not need to be an IIBA member to apply for certification.

What is the IIBA exam Recertification Policy?

To maintain the AAC certification candidates must:

  • Earn a minimum of 20 CDUs within the 1-year cycle.
  • They have to pay the recertification fee that is $30 for IIBA members and $50 for non-members.
  • When you successfully recertify, your status will remain as Certified. If you do not recertify by your recertification date, your status will change to Suspend, and this will be reflected in your digital badge. Once in Suspend status, you will have 4 months from your recertification date to recertify.
