1. What is SnowPro Core Certification Exam?

The SnowPro Core Certification exam tests a candidate’s ability to apply specific core expertise in Snowflake implementation and migration. The SnowPro Core Certification will teach candidates how to use Snowflake as a cloud data warehouse. They will also improve their skills in designing, creating, and managing secure, scalable Snowflake solutions to achieve corporate goals. 

Further, this exam will cover:

  • Firstly, Snowflake architectural principles & best practices
  • Secondly, Core aspects of Snowflake solutions including’
    • Data Loading/Unloading
    • Performance and Concurrency

2. What are the SnowPro Core Certification Objectives?

The SnowPro Core Certification is designed for candidates having an interest in demonstrating their knowledge of Snowflake, the Data Platform. However, the candidate has a thorough knowledge of: 

  • Firstly, how to load and transform Data in Snowflake
  • Secondly, scaling Virtual Warehouses for Performance and Concurrency 
  • Thirdly, utilizing Data Sharing 
  • Thirdly, Query Constructs and DDL & DML Operations

3. What is the Core Prerequisite Knowledge for the SnowPro Core Certification Exam?

The SnowPro exam does not include the cloud fundamentals or basics of SQL syntax, but there are some questions on the exam assuming knowledge of these concepts. However, to brush up on these concepts, search the following concepts in some computer science textbooks or using the internet. The concept includes:

  • Thirdly, Tables & Data Types, Selecting & Manipulating Data and Views, Store Procedures, Function Concepts

4. Where do I register for the Exam?

Kryterion Testing Centers or Webassessor’s online proctored environment proctor Snowflake’s SnowPro Certification examinations. Candidates can register for exams by first creating an account and then going to the exam catalogue. After that, choose an exam day and time that works for you.

5. How much does the exam cost?

The exam costs $175 USD per attempt via the online third-party proctor. However, the exam costs $175 USD per attempt at an onsite Kryterion Testing Center.

6. What is the pass score for the SnowPro Core Certification Exam?

You must score 80% out of the 100 questions to pass the exam.

7. Is the exam open book? Or are there any test aides allowed?

No, the exam is closed book. Test aides of any kind are prohibited (including pen & notebooks).

9. Where can I take the exam?

The exam is accessible online via Webassessor, our third-party proctor, or at a Kryterion Testing Center. Price points vary. You can choose the online vs onsite on the exam catalog.

10. What if I need to reschedule my exam?

  • Firstly, No Show & Cancellation Policy: Any candidate who does not reschedule their exam as noted below will be considered a no-show and will forfeit their registration fee. Cancellations need to be made 72 hours prior to the exam per Webassessor’s policy.
  • Secondly, Rescheduling Policy: Candidates can reschedule an exam through Webassessor on the portal. The request needs to be made at least 72 hours in advance.
  • Lastly, Emergency Situation: If you were unable to take the exam at the time you have chosen, please contact Snowflake at [email protected] with your subject line as “SnowPro Core Missed Exam – Emergency.” On a case-by-case situation, you may receive a voucher to reschedule.
11. When will I be receiving proof that I have passed the Snowflake Certification Exam?

You will receive a digital, verifiable SnowPro Core Certification badge through email if you pass the SnowPro Core Certification exam. Please wait up to 5 business days before contacting us if you have not received your Certification badge.

12. What if I fail my initial attempt?

Don’t give up if you don’t pass the first time; you can try again! You can pay the cost to take the exam again, but you’ll have to wait seven days between each attempt. We propose that you use this opportunity to improve your learning and education by enrolling in on-demand public Snowflake training and reviewing concepts that you may have difficulty with throughout the exam.

13. Can I take the SnowPro Core Certification Exam Multiple times?
  • Yes, you can have an unlimited number of attempts on the exam as long as you pay for the fee.
  • After three (3) attempts, we recommend that you attend one of the onsite Snowflake training courses.
  • You will also be eligible for a 10% discount for a course after three (3) failed attempts.

14. I have failed an exam; can I get more details on what I missed?

No. Individual question results are not published or reviewed. The only feedback Snowflake will give is whether you have passed or not passed the exam.

15. I have failed an exam and scored 79%; can I get a free reattempt?

No. You may be eligible for a discount, please reach out to [email protected].

16. I have failed an exam; is my score final?

All exam scores are final and will not be changed for any reason.

17. When do I get my proof of certification?

Credly has worked with us to provide a badge based on the learning outcomes you’ve exhibited. Credly’s technology is based on the Open Badge Standards, which are maintained by IMS Global. This allows you to digitally maintain, share, and validate your competencies. Credly’s Acclaim Platform will issue and administer your badge, which will be emailed to you.

18. How will I know if I’ve earned a badge?

You will receive an email notification within a few hours from passing the exam with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.

19. How do I verify my Certification?

Digital Certification badges are issued by Acclaim, to verify your certification, click on your badge link and click the ‘verify’ button on the top right.

20. What is an open badge?

Open badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification, or learning outcome which can be verified in real-time, online.

21. Where and how can I share my badge through Acclaim?

You can share your badge directly from the Acclaim platform to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook; over email; embedded in a website, or in your email signature. You can download your badge and link it anywhere online.

22. Does the SnowPro Core Certification exam expire?

Yes, your status as SnowPro Core Certified expires after 2 years of passing.

23. What happens when my SnowPro Core Certification Exam expires?

Since Snowflake is evolving and new features are being added, modified, or improved all the time, we want to make sure our SnowPros are up to speed on the latest Snowflake technology, which is why the Certifications have expiration dates. When your SnowPro Core Certification expires, you can renew it by enrolling in and passing the new updated test, as well as any extra prerequisites.
