What is the Multi-Factor Authentication Essentials Exam?

Multi-Factor Authentication  (MFA) Essentials exam validates the candidate’s skills and knowledge about the basic concepts of multi-factor authentication. This exam also tests the abilities to configure and managing multi-factor authentication and resources with WatchGuard AuthPoint. 

Who is the intended audience for the Multi-Factor Authentication Essentials exam?

This exam is good for network administrators having experience in configuring and managing AuthPoint.

What is the time durations for the Multi-Factor Authentication Essentials Exam?

You will get a maximum of two hours to complete the exam.

Are there any prerequisites for the Multi-Factor Authentication Essentials Exam?

No, there are no prerequisites for the exam.

How many questions will be there on the Multi-Factor Authentication Essentials Exam?

The technical certification exams can be taken at authorized Kryterion testing centers worldwide. With Kryterion’s online proctoring service the candidates can take an exam from your home or office.

How do I register for the certification exam?

You can register from the Technical Training page in the WatchGuard Portal or the Learning Center. You can also register by going directly to the WatchGuard Exam Registration Site. The exams are scheduled on the basis of the time zone associated with the address used when your exam account is created.

What is the exam registration fee for the Multi-Factor Authentication Essentials Exam?

The exam fee for the exam is US $200 that can be paid through credit card. This fee has to be paid when you register to take the exam. 

How do I prepare for an exam?

Watchguard provides an Exam Guide for each exam. The Exam Study Guide includes a basic description of the exam, information on what to study to prepare for the exam including several sample exam questions.

Are there special requirements to take an online proctored exam?

Yes, and we recommend that you allow at least 24 hours between the time you schedule an online proctored exam and when you take the exam to make sure you have met all requirements. To summarize:

  • Install Sentinel Secure™ software to lock your computer down during the exam to prohibit the use of computer test aids.
  • Create a biometric profile based on facial recognition.
  • Make sure you have a Kryterion-approved webcam. And, the internal webcams are not approved, as the online proctor must be able to see you, your hands, and your computer monitor as you take the exam.
  • You have to verify your computer OS and installed applications supporting the online proctoring process.
  • Then, you must make sure your desk area is clear and your mobile phone is not accessible. You may be required to remove and show watches, bracelets, any large jewelry, or eyeglasses to make sure they are not technology-enabled.
  • During the exam, you cannot speak out loud and/or interact with other people.

What things do I need to bring when I take a certification exam at a Kryterion testing center?

You must bring two forms of personal identification with your signature on both, and one of the two forms of ID must have your photo. Valid forms of identification include the current driver’s license, current passport, or equivalent. Food, laptops, backpacks, notepads, pens, or other personal equipment are NOT allowed in the test area. Please note that during the exam check-in process, you will be asked to turn out exterior pockets (on jackets, jeans, slacks, etc.) to verify that the pockets are either empty or that they do not contain any prohibited items. 

How much score is required to pass a WatchGuard certification exam?

You must score at least 75% to pass a WatchGuard technical certification exam.

Do we have access to use reference materials during a certification exam?

No, you can take reference material or study aids when you take the exam.

How long is the certification valid?

Certification is valid for two years.

When will I get my exam results?

The exam results are visible on-screen immediately after exam completion. Also, you will receive the results in an email. If you pass the exam, the email message will include a date-stamped certificate for your records.

Is it possible to retake the exam if I fail?

If you fail an exam, you can take it again at the one-time retake fee of $100. Subsequent attempts will cost $200. 

Will I receive a detailed report of my exam answers?

In order to maintain the integrity of the exam, we do not provide detailed information on your exam results. High-level feedback is provided at the end of your exam.

Can I get my exam purchase receipt?

When you purchase an exam, you will receive an automatic confirmation email that acts as your receipt. If you need an actual invoice, you can generate them yourself from your Kryterion WatchGuard-branded Webassessor account by selecting the Generate Receipts button. 

What do I need to do if I have to cancel or reschedule my exam appointment?

The policy to reschedule or cancel an exam depends on the exam you have scheduled. For Online Proctored Exams, you can reschedule an exam with no additional costs up to the start time of the exam. Whereas for exams at Kryterion Test Centers, you must reschedule or cancel your exam at least 72 hours before the exam start time to avoid additional fees. If you miss your scheduled exam appointment, you forfeit your exam fee and are not eligible for a refund.

What is the refund policy?

The refund process is in the hand of the exam delivery partner and Kryterion. They provide refund when the exam is canceled with 72 hours’ notice. And, there will be no grant given for other refund requests.
