What is the Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) Exam?

The Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) Exam has been developed to equip candidates to successfully lead agile teams and learn to customize their working approach to make it more realistic and matches the requirements of the organization and industry.

What is the eligibility for the Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) Exam?

In order to be eligible for the DASM certification exam, no experience is required. 

In order to appear for the DASM certification exam is to successfully complete

  • Instructor-led DASM course offered by a PMI Authorized Training Provider (ATP); or
  • DASM eLearning Online Course

There is no application for the DASM

How to prepare for the Exam?

  • Candidates are required to take an instructor-led training or self-paced online course.
  • Complete the course to receive your DASM exam invitation. The candidate will have 60 days to take the exam
  • After passing the exam, candidates will receive their badge and certification.
  • The certification is valid for one year and can be renewed upon expiry.

What are the topics covered in the Exam?

The Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) exam covers the following topics – 

  • Domain 1 – Overview of Agile Foundation (30%)
  • Domain 2 – Overview of Lean Foundation (20%)
  • Domain 3 – Overview of Disciplined Agile Foundation (24%)
  • Domain 4 – Overview of determining your WoW (26%)

What is the format of the DASM exam?

The   exam is administered by Pearson VUE. The DASM exam will be conducted online, a non-proctored test including 50 MCQs. The total exam appointment is 120 minutes with 30 minutes for the introduction, tutorial, and survey and up to 90 minutes for completing the exam.

How long does the student have from the training workshop to take the DASM exam?

Candidates are required to have 60 days from the time they receive the exam link to take the exam. But candidates can retake the exam two more times within that 60-day period if they do not pass the first attempt. 

What are the exam re-take fees for DASM Exam?

Candidates are required to pay a $150 exam retake fee. 

Does a DASM certification expire?

Yes, a DASM certification is valid for 1 year only. Candidates are required to renew the certification, must earn 7 PDUs in agile topics and pay the $50 renewal fee. Active PMI members can renew at the reduced price of $20 per year.
