What is the Disciplined Agile Coach (DAC)?

To evaluate the senior level knowledge and experience of Disciplined Agile®, the Disciplined Agile Coach (DAC) test was created. The DAC certification tests a candidate’s ability to teach teams across the organisation in using Disciplined Agile and selecting their optimum mode of operation, thereby helping organisations achieve genuine agility.

What are the exam requirements?

  • A PMI Authorized Training Provider’s two-day, instructor-led DAC course must be successfully completed by candidates (ATP)
  • Application materials for the certification exam are accepted from candidates.
  • For candidates to assure thorough familiarity with the DA toolkit, along with the practises and tactics, they must have three years of experience with agile and the Disciplined Agile Senior Scrum Master (DASSM) certification.
  • A three-day training course from an authorised training provider will be required of candidates. Candidates are accepted into the elite DAC Community of Practice, which offers additional learning opportunities, exam preparation opportunities, and the DAC Case Study, after successfully completing the three-day course.
  • Each domain of the DAC test blueprint contains questions related to the DAC case-study.
  • After finishing the DAC course, candidates are qualified to sign up for the DAC exam.
  • Candidates must have a disciplined senior scrum master certification and three years (36 months) of coaching experience with agile (DASSM)
How to Document Your Experience with Agile in the Application?
  • First, enter the three years of experience needed in the online application’s agile experience area.
  • Start with the most recent experience you have and enter it.
  • From the start date to the end date, the application will automatically determine the total number of months. Experience entries that overlap will not be counted as separate entries.

How to prepare for the Exam?

  • Candidates are required to take an instructor-led training or self-paced online course.
  • Complete the course to receive your DASM exam invitation. The candidate will have 60 days to take the exam
  • After passing the exam, candidates will receive their badge and certification.
  • The certification is valid for one year and can be renewed upon expiry.

What are the topics covered in the Exam?

The Disciplined Agile Coach (DAC) exam covers the following topics – 

  • Understand the Disciplined Agile Coach Concepts (8.3%)
  • Understand the Facilitate the DA way (6.7%)
  • Develop skills to Engage the Stakeholders (15%)
  • Overview of Communicate Continuously (10%)
  • Overview of Mentorship and Leadership (16.7%)
  • Overview of Guided Transition and Continuous Improvement (11.7%)
  • Overview of Coaching, Consulting, Counseling, and Lean Leadership (18.3%)

What is the format of the DAC exam?

The   exam is administered by Pearson VUE. The DAC exam will be conducted online, a non-proctored test including 50 MCQs. The total exam appointment is 120 minutes with 30 minutes for the introduction, tutorial, and survey and up to 90 minutes for completing the exam.

How long does the student have from the training workshop to take the DAC exam?

Candidates are required to have 60 days from the time they receive the exam link to take the exam. But candidates can retake the exam two more times within that 60-day period if they do not pass the first attempt. 

What are the exam re-take fees for DAC Exam?

Candidates are required to pay a $150 exam retake fee.
