What is DevOps Foundation® certification?

DevOps Foundation® is a freestanding certification offered by DevOps Institute. The purpose of the certification and its associated course which is also offered by DevOps Institute is to impart, test and validate knowledge of DevOps basic vocabulary, principles and practices.

What is DevOps?

DevOps is a combination of development and operations working towards increasing an organization’s ability to deliver at a higher velocity, throughout the service lifecycle. It starts from the design stage and includes all the development processes right up to production support. To summarise, DevOps combines the development, testing, and operations to enhance the software quality and the development process.

What are the education requirements for the DevOps Foundation® exam?

Although there are no formal prerequisites for the exam, DevOps Institute highly recommends the following to prepare candidates for the exam leading to DevOps Foundation certification:

  • It is recommended that candidates complete at least 16 contact hours (instruction and labs) as part of a formal, approved training course delivered by an accredited Education Partner of DevOps Institute.

Who can attend the DevOps Foundation® course?

Any interested candidate can attend this DevOps foundation course. However, basic familiarity with IT development and IT operations such as Agile, Lean, and ITSM are recommended. The target audience for this course includes:

How many questions are there in the DevOps Foundation® exam?

The DevOps Foundation® exam contains 40 multiple-choice questions.

How much time will be given to complete the DevOps Foundation® exam?

The candidate will be given 1 hour to complete the DevOps Foundation® exam. 

What is the passing marks for the DevOps Foundation® exam?

The passing marks for the DevOps Foundation® exam are 65%.
