What is the US Citizenship Civics Test ?

The civics test is an oral test and the applicant will be asked up to 10 of the 100 civics questions by the USIC Officer. To pass the civics portion of the naturalization test the applicant must answer 6 out of 10 questions correctly.

On the naturalization test, because of elections or appointments some answers may change. As one study for the test, make sure to focus on the most current answers to these questions. Answer these questions with the name of the official who is serving at the time of the eligibility interview with USCIS. No incorrect answer will be accepted by the USCIS Officer.

To take the English and civics tests per application the applicant has two opportunities. If s/he fails any portion of the test during the first interview, the candidate will be retested on the portion of the test that s/he has failed from the date of the initial interview between 60 and 90 days.
