What is the Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) certification?

A CGAP certification is a recognition of an auditor’s proficiency in the complex auditing tasks related to compliance with laws and regulations. This certification indicates that public sector auditors have acquired the skills to be effective in their profession.

What is the waiting period for retaking the exam? Also, what is the total number of attempts I have to clear the exam?

To retake the exam, you have to wait for a period of 60 days. This is to protect the integrity of the exam. As far as the number of attempts is concerned, there is no limit to it.

What scoring scheme does the CGAP Exam use?

The CGAP exam is graded on a scaled score of 25-75, with a score of 600 needed to pass. All exam questions are multiple-choice and require only one correct answer. Comments and/or calculations are not considered part of an exam response.

Is it mandatory to take the CGAP exam parts in order?

No. Exam parts can be attempted in any order.

Where can the candidates take the CGAP Exam?

The CGAP Examination is a computer-based exam offered at Pearson VUE testing centers. The majority of test centers are open five or six days a week, with morning, afternoon, and evening time slots available daily.
