Data collection system (DCS) is a computer software which helps in data processing, compilation of relevant information in structured format to perform data analysis easily and effectively.

Big data is

  • enormously large data sets,
  • which needs to be analyzed
  • and to divulge any trends, patterns or associations, usually about human interactions.

Data collection for big data processing is sourced from

  • Transactional Data,

AWS Data Collection and the Processing System

Various types of analytics can be performed by using the AWS services and the analytic types are as

  • Descriptive analytics – They answer “What happened and why?” and include traditional query and reporting environments, usually with scorecards and dashboards.
  • Predictive analytics – It is used to predict the probability of a given event in the future, for the organization like predicting high probabilistic fraud cases, preventive maintenance and forecasting inventory requirements.
  • Prescriptive analytics – It provides prescriptions or recommendations to the user. They address the question – What should I do if “x” happens?
